A group of furloughed child care workers can’t bring a discrimination class action against the operator of day care centers in northwest Pennsylvania because their claims are time-barred, a federal judge ruled .

Child Development Centers Inc. was hit with two lawsuits concerning a fall 2020 involuntary furlough. The first suit brought by nine ex-employees alleges disparate treatment, arguing that the action illegally targeted older, Black employees.
