Pelosi Attacker Argues Poor Jury Instructions Shaded Conviction

A Ninth Circuit panel of judges pierced holes in arguments Wednesday that David DePape, who in 2022 attempted to kidnap then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and assaulted her husband in their San Francisco home, didn’t receive a fair trial due to improper jury instructions.

DePape was sentenced to 30 years in prison on two federal charges but is asking the US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit to overturn his conviction because the trial judge failed to give proper jury instructions and allowed the jury to see graphic videos and photos of Paul Pelosi’s injuries.
