Pearson Loses Discovery Bid Against Chegg in Copyright Dispute

Chegg is the hub of all homework answers, but Pearson Education Inc. can’t compel it to discovery on whether its website is used by students to cheat.

The educational publishing company sued Chegg in the US District Court for the District of New Jersey in September 2021. Pearson accused Chegg of infringing on its copyrights and weakening its brand by continuing “to reprint its end-of-chapter questions in connection with its study guides and solutions.”
