Peacock Video Privacy Suits Over App, Website Get Mixed Results

NBCUniversal Media LLC and its streaming service Peacock TV LLC convinced a federal court to dismiss a proposed class action alleging the companies violated the Video Privacy Protection Act by sharing consumers’ video-watching history on its mobile apps.

The applications didn’t appear to send information to Adobe Inc. and mParticle Inc. that could personally identify users, the US District Court for the Southern District of New York said Monday.
