PayPal won’t be able introduce a master service agreement with a third-party vendor in an upcoming trial after a federal court sanctioned the platform for failing to comply with a discovery deadline.
The litigation over PayPal’s Giving Fund charitable giving platform hinges on whether a user was notified of a mandatory arbitration policy. The US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, on remand from the Seventh Circuit, is considering whether user Terry Kass received a notice from PayPal that all disputes with the platform going forward would require arbitration, pursuant to a 2012 amendment to its user agreement. ...
