The Texas Supreme Court between September and June expanded the investigative authorities of Attorney General Ken Paxton (R) and shrunk the powers of his adversaries to investigate him.
The state’s high civil court decided six politically-charged cases that involved Paxton or his office and found in his favor, overturning lower courts, in all but one.
