A Texas pediatric doctor is accused of committing health care fraud over a period of nine years by billing for sex change services that are barred by Texas Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Program, the state says in a new lawsuit announced Wednesday.

Dr. Jason Jarin, a pediatric gynecologist in the Dallas area, billed the state for millions of dollars in gender transition care that he obscured with false diagnosis codes, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton (R) said in the state court petition.
