Paxton Securities Case Prosecutors Worth $300 an Hour, Per Judge

The special prosecutors overseeing Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton’s (R) state securities fraud case are entitled to bill $300 an hour, a Houston judge said, resolving for now a dispute that has contributed to a protracted delay in an eight-year-old case.

Judge Andrea Beall’s fee ruling, made public in a court filing Thursday morning, is pending a decision by the state’s highest criminal court, the Court of Criminal Appeals.
