Paxton, School Reach Agreement Ending Critical Race Theory Probe

A Texas school district will direct all staff to comply with a ban on teaching critical race theory, ending a state investigation from Attorney General Ken Paxton (R) while admitting no wrongdoing.

The Austin public school system must re-issue a district wide communication reminding principals and staff of the state law, which prohibits among other teachings that an individual is inherently racist based on their race, according to an agreed court order that Paxton announced Monday.

The district also is prohibited from telling parents or students how to circumvent the law, the order states.
