Paxton Probes Gerber, Plum Organics Over Metals in Baby Food

Gerber and Plum Organics are the target of an investigation from Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton (R) for alleged deceptive advertising of baby food that contains what he says are dangerous levels of heavy metals.

Paxton issued an administrative subpoena to the companies known as a Civil Investigative Demand, his office announced Tuesday, adding that it intends to send additional demands as the investigation proceeds.

The investigation aligns with Trump administration efforts to review ingredients in the food supply for babies.
