A Texas state judge hammered the office of Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton (R) for “outrageous and intolerable” conduct in investigating a Texas nonprofit that provides meals and beds to migrants in El Paso.

Paxton’s office wanted Annunciation House Inc., a Catholic charity, to turn over records as part of a probe into whether the organization is harboring undocumented immigrants. Paxton in February sought to strip the nonprofit of its ability to do business in Texas after it refused to turn over requested business records.
