Paul Pelosi’s Attacker Fails to Overturn Conviction on Appeal

David DePape, a Canadian man who in 2022 attempted to kidnap then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and assaulted her husband, failed to overturn his conviction before a federal appeals court.

The judge overseeing DePape’s federal trial corrected her error when she failed to allow him to address the court ahead of his sentencing, three-judge panel for the US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit ruled.
