Patient Advances Loyola University Medical Suit Over Health Data

Loyola University Medical Center must face a proposed class action alleging it shared patients’ personal health information with Meta Platforms Inc. and Google Inc.,in violation of federal and state privacy laws.

Plaintiffs Kensandra Smith and Mary Ellen Nilles alleged in the November 2023 lawsuit that Loyola Medical, a Chicago-based health system, installed tracking pixels and other tools on its website, allowing Meta and Google to collect patients’ health information without their knowledge or consent.
