Pathfinder to Pay $1.17 Million in Biometric-Privacy Settlement

Pathfinder Software LLC would pay $1,175,000 to settle biometric privacy claims related to a fingerprint-based timekeeping system it provided to a Sky Zone trampoline park franchise operator, under a deal given initial approval by a federal court.

Madisyn Stauffer alleged that Pathfinder, which does business as CenterEdge Software LLC, collected her biometric data without telling her or obtaining her consent when she clocked into work using the timekeeping system, in violation of the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act.
