The National Park Service under President Donald Trump illegally decided to reopen a mine that’s part of the Mojave National Preserve, a new suit from a conservation nonprofit group claims.
The decision to reopen Colosseum Mine “threatens irreparable harm to a fragile desert ecosystem,” according to the suit filed Wednesday by the National Parks Conservation Association against the park service and the US Department of the Interior. The complaint was filed with the US District Court for the Central District of California.
