Parking lot manager Parking Revenue Recovery Services Inc. used information from official motor vehicle records in violation of the Driver’s Privacy Protection Act to send demands for payment to drivers who used its lots without paying, a proposed federal class action said.
The lawsuit is at least the fourth this year to be filed in federal court against a parking lot operator over alleged violations of the DPPA, which prohibits the unauthorized access and use of personal information contained in motor vehicle records.
