A parking management firm defeated a proposed class action from a client claiming the company illegally obtained personal information about consumers and used deceptive practices to collect parking payments.
Plaintiff Peter Cicale Jr. lacked standing to allege injuries under the federal Driver’s Privacy Protection Act and state consumer protection law because Florida-based Professional Parking Management Corp. appropriately mailed him a bill for parking in a lot without paying, the US District Court for the Southern District of Florida said in a May 1 order closing the case.
