Parking-Lot Manager Beats Suit Over Accessing of DMV Records

Parking-lot operator Professional Parking Management Corp. defeated a proposed class action alleging it illegally obtained the personal information of drivers from motor-vehicle records and used deceptive means to collect payment from them.

The plaintiffs failed to show they suffered an actual injury sufficient to establish standing to sue in federal court, Judge Raag Singhal of the US District Court for the Southern District of Florida said in an order entered Feb. 20.

Professional Parking’s motion to dismiss is currently pending in a similar lawsuit before Singhal, Cicale v. Professional Parking Management Corp.
