Paramount Global defeated a proposed class action alleging it violated the video-privacy rights of subscribers to its college-sports focused website by sharing their personal information with Facebook.
Plaintiff Michael Salazar failed to show that he was a subscriber of goods or services from a video tape services provider, a threshold requirement for stating a claim under the federal Video Privacy Protection Act, Judge Eli Richardson of the US District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee said Tuesday.
Richardson granted Paramount’s motion to dismiss.
