P&G Trims Deception Suit Alleging There’s Lead in Tampax Tampons

Procter & Gamble Co. convinced a federal judge in California to trim some of the claims in a proposed class action alleging the company misled consumers into believing its Tampax Radiant and Tampax Pearl tampons are safe when they actually contain excessive lead.

The US District Court for the Southern District of California on Thursday dismissed a set of consumer protection claims because the plaintiffs hadn’t tested all the products in their suit for excessive lead. But Judge Gonzalo P. Curiel dismissed the claims without prejudice, allowing them 25 days to amend their pleadings.
