P&G Defeats Consumers’ Olay Retinol Cleansers Deception Suit

Procter & Gamble Co. convinced a California federal judge to dismiss claims it deceptively advertised certain Olay brand cleansers providing the benefits of the skincare ingredient retinol.

The consumers didn’t show how the packaging statements implied benefits from retinol or that most consumers understand what specific benefits it provides, Judge Haywood S. Gilliam Jr. of the US District Court for the Northern District of California said Monday.
