Overdue Endangered Species Decisions Draw Lawsuit Threat

Conservationists are planning a lawsuit that would force the Trump administration to make decisions on endangered species protections.

The Center for Biological Diversity told the Interior Department Jan. 8 that it intends to sue over missed deadlines in deciding whether to protect 26 species of animals and plants under the Endangered Species Act.

Included on the list are the American wolverine and the elfin woods warbler, a small bird native to Puerto Rico.
