Osteopathic Medicine Association Set to Settle Data Breach Suit

The American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine have agreed on the material terms of a class settlement with those, including osteopathic medical school applicants, impacted by a September 2024 data breach.

The alleged failure to maintain sufficient data security practices hurt over 67,000 people, an amended complaint filed in the US District Court for the District of Maryland said. The breach included highly sensitive personal identifiable information and health data, it said.
