O’Reilly Auto Workers’ Settlement Over Pay, Work Breaks Advances

O’Reilly Auto Enterprises LLC‘s workers were granted preliminary approval of a $4.1 million proposed settlement for four consolidated cases that alleged break and pay violations.

The lead suit filed in June 2021 under the Fair Labor Standards Act sought pay for undergoing Covid-19 screening and security inspections. But eventually it became an action under California’s Private Attorneys General Act.

The other three suits under California law alleged failure to provide proper breaks, failure to properly pay wages and issue proper wage statements, and unfair competition. The cases were consolidated May 21, 2024, and the parties agreed to settle them ...
