O’Reilly Auto Manager Who Opposed Harassment Wins $3 Million (1)

O’Reilly Auto Enterprises LLC owes a district manager nearly $3 million in damages for firing him for reporting that another male district manager was sexually harassing a female store manager, a Michigan federal jury decided.

Jeremiah Glowacki’s termination violated both Title VII of the 1964 Civil Rights Act and Michigan’s Elliott-Larsen Civil Rights Act, the US District Court for the Western District of Michigan jury said Wednesday.

The verdict was reached at the end of a three-day trial before Judge Hala Y. Jarbou. The jury awarded Glowacki $979,000 for his lost pay and other past economic damages, $800,000 in future ...
