Oregon LGBTQ+ Acceptance Adoption Policy Blocked by 9th Circuit

An Oregon policy requiring prospective parents seeking an adoption to accept the gender identity and sexual orientation of the child was blocked by a federal appeals court Thursday.

In a divided ruling, the US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit sided with a Christian mother of five who sought to adopt two children but argued the Oregon policy violated her religious beliefs about human sexuality.
