The US Justice Department sued Orange County’s Registrar of Voters for refusing to provide identifying information of non-citizens whose voter registration records had been canceled, according to a new federal lawsuit.
The DOJ sought records after a non-citizen’s family member complained the non-citizen had received an unsolicited mail-in ballot, according to the Wednesday complaint in the US District Court for the Central District of California.
Registrar Robert Page provided data on the number of registrations canceled for citizenship reasons, but redacted ID card numbers, Social Security numbers, and signatures, according to the complaint.
