Oracle’s July Data Breach Exposed Customers’ Data, Suit Says

A proposed class action against Oracle Corp. alleged the technology giant failed to protect sensitive personal data of its customers’ current and former employees that was compromised in a July data breach.

Lead plaintiff Patricia Eagan alleged that Oracle failed to implement reasonable data-security measures or provide timely notification of the incident, according to a complaint filed Monday in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas.

Oracle’s negligence led to the unauthorized access and disclosure of personal information belonging to current and former enterprise customers, employees, and contractors, it said.
