Oracle Wins on Attorney Fee Award in Failed NetSuite Lawsuit

The Delaware Court of Chancery rejected a $5 million fee award for the attorneys for a pension fund that failed in its challenge to Oracle Corp.’s 2016 acquisition of NetSuite Inc.

Vice Chancellor Sam Glasscock III said he feels “sympathy” for the fund’s attorneys who brought the case that “consumed monumental effort on the part of the some of the best in the plaintiffs’ bar,” according to an opinion issued late Wednesday afternoon.

“The ride was long and skillfully done, but not a winner,” he said.
