Online Cincinnati Eviction Records Must Be Restored, Court Says

The clerk of one of Ohio’s largest courts must restore online access to eviction records, the Ohio Supreme Court ruled Wednesday as it sided with the judges whom the clerk defied.

Pavan V. Parikh, as Hamilton County’s elected clerk of courts, must follow a state law that says he “shall” perform duties directed by municipal judges, the justices unanimously said in an unsigned opinion, adding that case law and local and state court rules give judges discretion to restrict access to municipal-court records.
