Onewheel users who said Future Motion Inc. defectively designed the single-wheel electronic motorized skateboard didn’t clearly identify what the alleged defect was, a federal judge said, dismissing most of their claims from a consolidated class action.
The skateboard users alleged their Onewheels unexpectedly stopped or shut off while they were riding, causing them to fall off the board in a nose dive. But “the propensity of the Onewheel to nosedive is not a defect, but an effect,” the US District Court for the Northern District of California said Friday.
