Olly, Zarbee’s Melatonin Mislabeling Suits Withstand Dismissal

Unilever unit Olly Public Benefit Corp. can’t exit a suit alleging its melatonin sleep aids contain significantly more melatonin than stated on the label, violating consumer protection laws.

Melatonin regulates the brain’s circadian rhythm and sleep cycle. Hope Murphy, Carol Lesh, and Emily Jiang filed a proposed class action in the US District Court for the Northern District of California, alleging that testing showed the true amount of melatonin in certain products was 165% to 274% of the amount claimed.
