Oklahoma Investigator With Bad Heart Fired at 70 Gets Bias Trial

A jury could find the Oklahoma attorney general’s office failed to accommodate its former chief investigator’s heart issues when it proposed transferring him into a job with a state drug task force and fired him when he refused the move, a federal judge ruled.

Terry Cronkite was 70 years old at the time and roughly nine years removed from triple bypass surgery, the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Oklahoma said. His doctor said in a note Cronkite gave to his supervisors that he was being treated for hypertension, high cholesterol, and coronary artery disease.
