Oilfield Company Again Wins Block in Worker Trade Secret Suit

An oil field equipment maker convinced a federal court Thursday to again issue a temporary restraining order forbidding former employees from sharing alleged proprietary technology with competitors.

That’s after the court had issued a TRO in August, and then extended the order in September.

Bestway Oilfield Inc. won another temporary restraining order and a preliminary injunction on some of its claims against the former employees after arguing that it would be a competitive disadvantage if the workers, Michael Mapes and Orlin Matute Murillo, used the company’s trade secrets to develop technology “similar to or the same as” Bestway’s for their ...
