Ohio to Give NextGen Bar Exam Starting in 2028, High Court Says

Ohio is the 34th jurisdiction to adopt the NextGen bar exam and will start administering it in July 2028, the state Supreme Court announced Wednesday.

The test, developed by the National Conference of Bar Examiners, “is designed to align closely with the real-world responsibilities of newly licensed attorneys” and will be given in lieu of the Uniform Bar Examination, the court’s public-relations arm says in a news release.
