Ohio Supreme Court to Decide Challenge Over Orders Blocking Laws

The Ohio Supreme Court on Tuesday said it would, at the city of Columbus’s urging, decide whether governments may immediately challenge temporary orders blocking laws.

The case stems from a preliminary injunction imposed by a Delaware County Common Pleas judge last year that blocked two city ordinances regarding guns, with one requiring safe storage and one barring the possession of some high-capacity magazines. The injunction remains in place while a lawsuit brought by The Buckeye Institute, a conservative think tank, is pending.
