A publicly-traded Ohio steel company is dropping the lawsuit it filed after it said scammers defrauded it out of $3.7 million by posing as a vendor’s servicer.
Olympic Steel Inc. noted in a Monday court filing that it was dismissing the claims it filed against unnamed defendants in an April lawsuit without prejudice. It wasn’t clear what precipitated the move, and neither an Olympic spokeswoman nor its attorney immediately responded to emails seeking comment. A status conference was previously set for July 24.
