Ohio State Faces Revived Claims Over Strauss Sexual Assaults (1)

Ohio State University must again defend claims it was deliberately indifferent to the heightened risk of abuse of students by university physician and athletic team doctor Richard Strauss, after the Sixth Circuit held Wednesday that the claims were wrongly dismissed as untimely.

The plaintiffs allege Strauss sexually assaulted up to 3,000 male student athletes and others during his employment at the university from 1978 to 1998 and that the university engaged in a “widespread and intentional culture of silence, cover-up, and deliberate indifference to sex crimes.”
