Ohio Security Insurance Avoids Suit Under Illinois Biometric Law

Ohio Security Insurance Co. doesn’t have to pay to defend a client facing a class action under the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act for making its employees clock in and out using their fingerprints, an Illinois appellate court said Monday.

Exclusions in the policies between Ohio Security and Wexford Home Corp. barred coverage, Justice James Fitzgerald Smith said for the Illinois Appellate Court, First District, in an unpublished opinion Monday.
