A split Sixth Circuit panel on Monday left in place an Ohio school district’s policies that prohibit bullying transgender students, ruling that a conservative parents group didn’t show it would imminently be harmed by the prohibitions.
The group, Parents Defending Education, aren’t entitled to a preliminary injunction blocking the policies put in place by the Olentangy Local School District, Judge Jane Branstetter Stranch of the US Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit wrote for herself and Judge Stephanie Dawkins Davis. Both were appointed by Democratic presidents.
