Ohio Newspapers Side With Election Deniers in Open-Meetings Case

The owner of some of Ohio’s largest newspapers has a strange bedfellow in a recent case: a conservative group that has worked to sow doubt over the integrity of the nation’s elections.

Gatehouse Media Ohio Holdings II Inc.—which is part of Gannett and owns the Columbus Dispatch, Cincinnati Enquirer, and Akron Beacon Journal— is urging the Ohio Supreme Court to rule in favor of Look Ahead America, run by former Trump campaign aide Matt Braynard, in an open-meetings dispute with the Stark County Board of Elections.
