Ohio Justices Clarify Document Release Rules for Insurance Spats

A judge must review documents in certain insurance disputes to determine whether they have to be turned over during discovery, the Ohio Supreme Court said Thursday in a win for Farmers Insurance Group.

The lower courts erred in the way they ordered Farmers to turn over certain documents in a case that alleged the insurer acted in bad faith when it waited too long settle a claim from an underinsured motorist policy after a car crash, Justice R.
