Ohio Judicial Misconduct Cases Up in 2024 as Complaints Rise

Ohio’s statewide attorney disciplinary office brought a higher-than-normal amount of public misconduct cases against judges in 2024.

The state’s Office of Disciplinary Counsel also said it noticed more complaints filed against judges last year, which is part of a trend, according to its annual report released Wednesday.

The number of cases—seven out of the 31 it filed with the state’s Board of Professional Conduct—isn’t staggering, but it does represent the highest number in a single year going back to 2010, a review of the office’s annual reports showed.
