Ohio Judge Suspended for Jailing Boys Who Refused to See Father

The Ohio Supreme Court on Friday suspended a Cleveland-area judge for misconduct in a custody case, though it dismissed other charges regarding public statements because of First Amendment problems.

Geauga County Common Pleas Judge Timothy J. Grendell, who handles juvenile and probate matters, was suspended for 18 months for how he handled a parent-visitation matter in which he sent two boys who refused to see their father to a juvenile detention center for a weekend.
