A Republican Ohio Supreme Court justice said Wednesday that he’s running to unseat the court’s last remaining Democrat next year, joining a crowded primary field as he seeks to extend his time on the bench.

If Justice Patrick F. Fischer—whose current term expires in 2028—beats fellow Justice Jennifer Brunner in November 2026, he’d extend his time on the court by four years.
