The group behind a proposal to bake reproductive rights into the Ohio Constitution asked the state Supreme Court on Monday to change the language voters will see when they vote on the issue in November.
The summary ballot language for what is known as “Issue 1,” drafted by the office of Secretary of State Frank LaRose (R), is “verbose, misleading, and prejudicial,” according to a complaint filed by the group Ohioans United for Reproductive Rights against the Ohio Ballot Board. It says the board violated its duties spelled out in the state constitution and in Ohio law.
