Octapharma Plasma Inc. has agreed to pay $2.55 million to settle a proposed class action stemming from a breach of Social Security numbers, health data, and donor eligibility information, according to a preliminary approval request.
The plasma-donation chain denies the allegations in the US District Court for the Western District of North Carolina but has elected to settle and provide a class of data breach notice recipients cash payments and three years of credit monitoring.
