Oakland A’s Strike Out in Ballpark Fight at California Top Court

Backers of the Oakland Athletics baseball team’s plan for a waterfront stadium lost their bid to argue that the state should force a metal recycler to clean up its adjacent facility, with the California Supreme Court declining Wednesday to review the case.

Justices, during their weekly conference, without comment refused to consider an appellate ruling that the A’s failed to show the Department of Toxic Substances Control isn’t enforcing the state Hazardous Waste Control Law.
