NYU Langone Health System and related defendants abandoned their new trial bid in challenging a jury’s $700,000 retaliation award to a female doctor who complained of gender bias, a federal judge ruled.
The various NYU entities and Joseph Antonik, the director of the site where rheumatologist Sari Edelman worked, did so by not raising prior to or on appeal in the case the failure to rule on their motions for a new trial or remittitur, the US District Court for the Southern District of New York said.
