NYCB Executive Sues Alleging Sex, Age Bias After Flagstar Deal

New York Community Bancorp. sidelined and fired the president of its Atlantic Bank of New York division after it acquired Flagstar Bank, because she is a woman and was in her early 60s, a federal lawsuit charges.

The discriminatory treatment included NYCB’s president failing to address the woman’s complaints and a human resources officer responding “with a short email that stated they felt that no further discussion was necessary,” the lawsuit says. Following that email, NYCB management continued to push the woman aside, “prevented her from properly running Atlantic Bank,” and terminated her several months later without providing any reason, ...
